Stress Looks Different On Everyone
Just because you're on vacation doesn’t mean your nervous system is on vacation too.
I've been adventuring, slowing down my usual pace, and soaking in new experiences… but my Oura Ring keeps telling a different story: my body is still stressed.
Even when things feel “good,” stress can sneak in through over-stimulation, heat, irregular routines, or lack of quality rest.
This is your reminder to check in with your body—not just your to-do list or travel itinerary.
✨ Happiness and stress can coexist.
✨ Stillness isn’t always relaxation.
✨ Awareness is the first step to regulating.
Try these small daily rituals to down-regulate your nervous system (anytime, anywhere):
🔹 Down-Regulation Tips:
1. 5-5-5 Breath
→ Inhale for 5, hold for 5, exhale for 5.
Repeat 3x. Works like a nervous system reset.
2. Put your bare feet on the ground
→ Grass, sand, tile—anything natural or cool.
Let the earth help you discharge that static.
3. Cold splash or rinse
→ A cold rinse on your hands, face, or even wrists.
Instantly calms your system.
4. Close your eyes for 60 seconds
→ Block the input, reset the mind.
You don’t always need a nap—you just need a pause.
5. Humming or gentle sighs
→ Stimulates your vagus nerve.
Sounds silly. Works wonders.
